Grade Level:
Romeo and Juliet: 6th grade and up | The Barber of Seville: All ages
One-act, one-hour operas, sung in English. This year we’re presenting the tragic tale of Romeo and Juliet and the popular comedy The Barber of Seville.
In-School Workshops
Interactive, customizable workshops on team building, concert preparation, elements of production, math and more that can be tailored to your curriculum or activity.
POPera
Grade Level: K – 6th grade
Geared toward younger audiences, this 45-minute program performed by the Opera Colorado Young Artists explores the influence of opera and musical theater on popular culture using pieces from film, television, and cartoons.
Arias & Ensembles
Grade Level: 7th grade and up
Performed by the Opera Colorado Young Artists, this delightful concert-style program features popular highlights from the operatic and musical theatre repertoire that will educate and entertain with background information and interesting facts.
Generation OC
Generation OC is a unique, extended residency program that will provide students with a well-rounded and exciting opportunity to explore careers in the arts as they go behind the scenes and experience the inner workings of Opera Colorado. Curriculum concentration options include Marketing, Performance, or Literature, and emphasis is placed on thoughtful integration and 21st Century Workforce Readiness Skills as outlined by the Colorado Department of Education.
Opera in a Trunk
Grade Level: All ages
A trunk filled with costumes, props and activities makes opera come alive! Complete with a presentation by an Opera Colorado Education Specialist, this year’s programs are Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet, Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, Bizet’s Carmen, and Opera for Beginners.
