Cinderella - Gioachino Rossini
Back by popular demand! Journey to an enchanting world of disguises and true love; Opera Colorado brings the timeless story of Cinderella to life in a production of Rossini's famous opera. Complete with ugly stepsisters, a wicked step-father and a prince disguised as a servant, this rendition will thrill audiences of all ages. Watch with delight as Cinderella finds her Prince - but not with a glass slipper! A valuable tool for a "compare and contrast" study of the various Cinderella tales from all over the world. The Music Shop - Richard Wargo
Join us as we travel to 1900's Russia in Richard Wargo's brilliant comedy, The Music Shop, based on the short stories of Anton Chekhov. Ivan's wife has been asked to sing at the Prince's wedding and has sent him to purchase a special aria for the event. But poor Ivan has forgotten which aria he is supposed to buy! In order to help him recall the song, he asks that shop owner Dmitri and the shop girl Masha sing all of the songs they sell until he can recognize the right tune. Listen for music from famous operas like Carmen, Hänsel and Gretel and more! Will Ivan find the all-important tune for his wife to sing at the Prince’s wedding?
