Education PROGRAMS
Opera Colorado offers a variety of educational programs available for audiences of all ages! These programs come directly to your school or community venue. The programs for the 2009-2010 Season include:
Opera on Tour - One-act, English operas - this year we're presenting the zany opera buffet The Music Shop and the classic romance Romeo and Juliet.
Let's Make an Opera! Residency Program - Participants get the chance to write and perform their own opera in this exciting residency program.
In-School Workshops - Interactive, customizable workshops on team building, concert preparation, elements of production, math and more that can be tailored to your curriculum or activity.
Arias & Ensembles - A selection of popular highlights from the operatic and musical theatre repertoire that will educate and entertain with background information and interesting facts.
Master Class - A hands-on intensive workshop taught by various guest artists fashioned around individual student’s specific needs.
Opera in a Trunk - A trunk filled with costumes, props and activities makes opera come alive! Complete with a presentation by an Opera Colorado Education Specialist, this year's trunks correspond to Rossini's The Barber of Seville, Wargo's The Music Shop, Gounod's Romeo and Juliet and an Opera for Beginners trunk.
