Let's Make An Opera! Residency Program

Participants become writers, producers and performers in Opera Colorado's residency program. Guided by an artist-in-residence, students work collaboratively to write, compose and perform their own original opera. They learn about the 5 C's that make a good opera: Context, Character, Conflict, Climax and Conclusion as well as writing a libretto, music composition, singing technique, performance skills and the elements of production. The program culminates in a performance of the opera that they worked together to create. This program supports Colorado Model Content Standards for Music and Reading and Writing.
