Overview
Experience the Italian Riviera in Mozart's frothy comedy of seduction, disguise and infidelity! Ferrando and Guglielmo, two young officers, have made a bet with the cynical Don Alfonso that the two sisters they will marry will be faithful to them. The men agree to disguise themselves as Albanians and then seduce each other's betrothed. Alfonso enlists the help of the sisters' maid, Despina, and soon the sisters fall prey to the charms of the "Albanians."

James Robinson (La Traviata, 2007) returns to stage his highly successful production with set designer Allen Moyer (Nixon in China, 2008), who places most of the action in a 1950s baroque room with silver-and-white wallpaper. Vibrant costumes are by David C. Woolard; Duane Schuler completes the lighting design. Opera Colorado is pleased to bring Italian conductor Carlo Montanaro (The Elixir of Love, 2007) back to lead the opera, which requires impeccable timing and attention.

This production was created for Santa Fe Opera.

Cosi fan tutte is sung in Italian with English and Spanish subtitles.
